1984 Quarter With Weird Error

Hello everyone! My name is Jen and I am in no way an expert. I just started to become interested in coins this year. Working at a cash register all day I have found quite a few cool and strange things. Today I found this weird 1984 quarter. It has an error on it I haven't seen before. The bottom of the L on Liberty extends down farther than it should.

@jenn, first welcome to CCF. Second, from the picture provided, it looks like there might be a small die crack coming off that letter L. Any chance of you adding a nice closeup pic of that area to the thread? Thx.
