I agree with JimmyD--post-strike issues, not mint errors.
Occasionally, these wide bands, or stripes, were caused by early collectors placing clear tape across the coin to keep it fixed within a lose folder hole. Eventually the collector removes the coin--and tape--and the coin returns to a life of circulation. I've seen several coins like this over many decades of searching. Even found a few old Whitman folders with some coins still taped within them. Not 100% sure with your coin, but does have that look.
