Never thought I would find two dimes with almost identical die chip and cracks on both dimes from the same bank roll. From three years back. You can tell them apart from the circulation strike on the band from one.

Hey that is kinda neat @hew! Make sure that you store them as a pair so that they don't get separated.

Keep 'em both...nice consecutive (or almost) strikes...find some more and complete the string.

Check to see if other markers match on the coin. (Same die wear patterns) If so one is an earlier die state than the other from the same die. More of the die has broken off of the die increasing the void. (now raised on the coin) Top Coin is the older die state.

Thanks guys. I actually thought it was the same dime until I went back through the pile I just checked and found the other. This could have been from someone else's collection or an incredible find. Either way, it made my day.

Just a die aging event. Not a premium for this. Just the knowing what happened is the reward for this one. All part of the training the eye needs to see to know what happened on the next find.

nice find, original solid date fresh bank rolls are fairly likely to have at least two coins from the same die pair, and a die chip makes it easier to ID conclusively

If it was a OBW roll you should find the same die cracks and chips on more than 1 coin. I've found as many as 7 or as few as 2 die pairing in rolls.
