Got this in change the other day. Its quite a bit smaller and the edge is copper color.

Dryer coin. Took a medium ride that flattened the outside edges of the coin. They get worse when left in there a longer time:

The longer the ride, the more damage happens to the coins.

@long, the other type of damage which reduces the diameter of a coin is called "spooning", and generally leaves a more dimpled edge than the dryer machinery.
