Found this penny and thought maybe it was an error on the mint mark. Still brand new at this and just curiosity I guess keeps my attention to it

If you see gray on it, then it is split plating and not a plus for the coin:
1983-Lincoln-Cent-Possible-Mint-Mark-Error-?
The gray color is the zinc under the plating. The coin is starting to rot now. Just a spender.
