Looking this one up, I see Variety Vista lists it as FS-501, but it's not in the CPG nor listed as a PCGS variety. So, is it or isn't it? Question for the nickel folks, thanks. 1968-D/D Jefferson nickel - RPM-001    |

Looks very clearly like a RPM to me. I'd go with the vv attribution.

Well it's quite definitely RPM-001, but is it also FS-501? That's what VV says, but it ain't in the CPG so maybe it used to be but got delisted? Seems like a stunning RPM to not have an FS number.

That's a nice one. Don't see it in my guide either and PCGS doesn't have it listed so it may not be FS anymore, even if it was at one point.

Awesome RPM, TB! Unfortunately, I can't help with your question as I don't keep a copy of the CPG myself, but it's strange that it would be listed that way on VV if it's not in there. Also odd that such a major variety wouldn't be listed in the CPG, for that matter.

TB, I think it is an FS-501. Only ANACS certify only one in 64 and one in 55. IMO

I think it might be a VV error because they also list the 1968 S RPM as FS-501 and my CPG has the 1968 S listed as FS 501 also.
Not sure why neither of these show up on PCGS, though.

Could be, but the 68-S is a proof and different mint mark so kinda odd for a mix up. Still, this RPM should have been listed.
