New guy from Mt Vernon WA
just getting stated. I have a 2000 D dime that looks copper tinted. What is a good place to find out if is just dirty or actually a copper tinted dime ?

We will really need to see clear pictures of both sides to help you but one thing,
there is no such thing as a copper tinted die from the mint.

The color should be either gray or red on a clad coin.

If the color is altered, it may have been affected in circulation.

Coins do turn colors on silver coins and cents.
People alter coins to make them look like something they are not:

But clad coins pretty much are not affected, unless they are stained.

Stain will wear off the tops of the devices first. Later the fields and they will appear dull in color:

Some coins tone normally or tone in an album.

Some are altered by the cello that the mint uses:

But images will show us more of what you are seeing on your coin.
