Nope. Split plating is unique to zinc cents (for US coinage). The 1958 D cent is copper.

As far as the images go I can't really see anything special your arrows are pointing to.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

New coin to this topic? Now that gets confusing. the original referenced as 'split plating' was a 1989 cent not this new 1958 showing MD

Please treat each coin as a stand alone thread, and if needed to reference another coin send I link to it. It's confusing otherwise. Also, always show us the entire coin, both sides, please.
