Hello all,
I am a newbie and suspect that this might be a wrapping error but since I have not seen another image like this, I thought I would ask those who know much more than I do. I found this quarter while sorting my change yesterday and noticed this ring on the obverse that was not on any of my other 2020 Salt River Bay quarters. I have taken pictures of the coin in question (on the right) with another 2020 Salt River Bay quarter. Is this the result of a wrapping machine or is it a mis-strike? Thank you all in advance.

First welcome to CCF. Second, yes your suspicion is correct.

Mechanical wrapping machine damage--not a mint error.

you are correct on rapping machine. If the left it is the 2020, then on right you has the transitional Observe 2021 design. Look at the nose, the face, the neck, and you will see differences. Those differences do not come from Die aging. Good hunting for those coins. I will like to know how many peoples find like this in rolls or bags. The 2021 Observe is characterized by a bigger head design and lower relief.
