What does burnished mean?

I believe that it is a polish that the mint applies after striking to a non-proof coin. I have a couple of 2006-W Unc Silver Eagles that are listed as burnished. It doesn't have the mirror surface of a proof, but is a more striking appearance than a standard unc coin.

Darn I wish that was 5 times bigger at the left there or on top. I don't know how many times I've told people to go here or there for such explanations. I keep forgetting about that Glossary thing at the left. Maybe I'll highlight it on my monitor.
