This penny sounded different so I looked. It has something loose inside. It only weighs 2.73 grams.

Agreed. Look at the obverse's edge. You can see the lip of the reverse.

Put it in a plastic cup or bottle and rattle it around. Should come apart.

Yes it is a " Magic Coin"! It is a Dime on the inside and can be switched to look like a half penny Half Dime! I will post pictures as soon as I can get the darn thing open again! Lol! It won't open now and I don't want to scratch it, going to get an Exacto knife later today and open it.
