Found this in pocket change collected over the years. It might be the 2010 WDDO-001. I noticed what looked like doubling in LIBERTY and did some online research to find out there is indeed a listing:

2010 1¢ WDDO-001
https://www.doubleddie.com/172501.html

Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

PS: This was the first day using the cheap microscope so I need more practice. Please provide me pointers if you think of any. Thanks.

I know this is a bad pic but it was the only one I could really see the crack going up thru the hair to the top of the head. Weird, you think you finally found one and suddenly you cannot take good pics.

Looks like a combination of slight Machine Doubling as well as glare from your light source. Not a doubled die, unfortunately. Don't be discouraged, true doubled dies are very rare, but they are out there!

You will have to block off all but one light and put a filter over that one like I had to do with mine.

A bit too much glare is blocking the details of your coin. As noted above, filtering your lighting may help you.

Hey thanks everyone! Yeah, I've decided I don't like the cheap USB microscope with built in LED ring light. I seem to be having trouble w/ lighting so I added a pc of paper onto the paper towel that is on the lamp and tried some pics w/ the phone because now the HD camcorder is taking bad pics again.

On this one, I do not see any separation lines or notches. I only ever saw doubling on LIBERTY but it is hard with these types of classes so... My first interpretation also might have been because I am not used to looking at newer coins cuz I've been stuck in the 80s.

Just seeing a normal die coin here. The DDO show distorted devices, your coin is normal. On that site, the upper image is the DDO, the second image is a normal coin. Using a side by side set of images.

Quote:

Top image:(coop added)
Extra thickness and significant notching show on the letters of LIBERTY on 2010 1¢ WDDO-001. Compare with the same letters on a "normal" 2010 cent in the next photo.
Lower image: (coop added)
The letters on this normal 2010 cent do not show the extra thickness or the notching seen on the upper left corners of the letters.

So if yours looks like the bottom coin, then it is just a normal coin, like all the rest of them that are not doubled dies.

@coop Thanks for clarifying that... I was surprised to even learn a variety existed for this cent when I first noticed something funny on it.

Sometimes seeing it, helps to convince what is true. Sometimes we assume. Just need to read a bit more sometimes.
