The best way to tell is by weighing it,
3.12g =copper
2.50g = zinc

You do realize that it is only the copper 1982 Small Date
that is valuable, you didn't mention which variety you have.

Pictures and weight then we can help you find out where to sell it. The value is about 10,000 dollars if it is the right one. Good luck. I think there is only three known.
