The edge one looks like acid damage to me,but need close up photo to be sure.Not seeing missing clad.

Acid coin, this can happen in a soda drinker's car cupholder.

Copper is very soft, so any acidic material even soda will eat away at it. The copper is sandwiched between nickel which is hard material and will not dissolve as easy.

Probably a Dryer Coin. The diameter will be slightly reduced in width of the coin.
