First coin- -The right side of the tail of the 2 is MD -The N (IN) is from the master die doubling. Second coin- -All MD Read about the die making process ( http://doubleddie.com/58201.html ) to see how/why the Mater die doubling happens and why it's not valuable/collectible, even though it is interesting. (The more common something is the less collectible it tends to be.) Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow. Machine Doubling happens after the strike. neither are worth a premium, as they are both common.( Machine Doubling can affect doubled dies as well) MDD affected as many as 50% of all cents that year. Machine Doubling happens on a lot of 1968-1972 cents. Not a collectable coin. More of an education piece to show to a new collector or just a spender. Report this Post to the Staff
