1. First off this is one of the Master die doubling examples. Note the shape of the 'B' in Liberty and the MDD on the motto.
2. The devices on Liberty are showing extreme die polishing, thus weakening of the 'L' on Liberty.
3. The rim maybe showing slight
Machine Doubling on the rim. Can see the tops of the devices on the obverse to see if there is slight
Machine Doubling on the tops of the Date and Liberty devices. Thus the rim may have been affected post strike on the bottom of the obverse and bottom of the reverse.
4. There is no premium for this, it is just a possible post strike issue that we are seeing from movement of the machine holding the dies.
All these are just die events, striking events and doubled master die issues. With the MDD, issue 50% of the cents that year were affected with this. The
Machine Doubling was an issue from 1968-1972 on cents. While the coin is just a nice coin, nothing special for a variety/error collector. Just another face in the crowd of cents. That is all I see on this one.
