Some scars of the clothes showed copper tone. Was this possible the cent a copper core plated by zinc? So it's heavier than a normal 1943 steel cent.

Copper coins weight 3.11 grams. Steel cents are 2.7 grams. So your coin is a steel (normal cent for that year) and possible plating on the coin making it a bit heavier. The zinc coating or plating is showing wear on the obverse. So it may have been an altered coin. Looks like the reverse is showing some Grease Fill on the EPU area. If reprocessed, it is just a steel Wheat cent. Not a copper planchet coin. Jumps to a magnet.
