Hello, all.

I'm usually pretty savvy at identifying coins on my own, but this one has me stumped.

(Notes: Size in photo, 4g)

This coin appears to have Chinese characters on the front (and I can't ID the top symbol, which is the first step with Cash Coins), but then the back has four symbols, two of which appear to be Japanese kanji. I know it could be from the occupation period, but it doesn't match any charts I can find online.

I also know there was a market for turning cash coins into trendy charms and trinkets (hence the holes at the top), but the difference in markings has me stumped.

So, is this legit or fake?

Your collective expertise is appreciated, in advance.

The top character is "filial", but no support on this site for me to input kanji character.

This item never was a genuine coin. It's a charm.

Thank you... I was fairly confident it was just a charm given the mix of symbols and letters, but the verification from the group is much more helpful.

Cheers!

This is a Korean charm coin cast around 1800-1900.

It is an authentic charm coin, not the modern counterfeit one.
The obverse is a Chinese Confucianism 4-character idiom, meaning " respect and love your parents and brothers, loyal to the monarch", the reverse two Chinese characters are sun and moon.
