so I have this 1964 D kennedy that I'm pretty sure is prooflike or really close to it, it has a crazy amount of die scratches and has super reflective surfaces! its also has a DDO pretty sure its FS-108. also the coin in hand looks alot better in the pictures it looks super scuffed and its because the reflective surfaces make every little mark look alot worse, the coin in hand looks around the MS63-64 range.

Good old fashioned cleaned/polished.

For beginners, they cannot distinguish between the two.

I own polished coins and know what they look like, this coin has full mint Luster and the high points of the coin have not been smoothed out like the others. Iylt stoll has reaised die scratches everywhere, there is little to now hairlines that look the same as cleaning. I guess u can't see it in the photos but I'm like 99% sure this coin has all original surfaces, imma bring it into my local coin dealer this weekend.

I still consider myself a beginner...even though I've been collecting since I was 8. At 61 now...I still get a little confused with die polishing. I was under the impression that polish lines are typically in the open fields and not on the raised devises because they (the devises) are the high points and get smoothed away with the strike? If I'm wrong...see...still a beginner/learner...
Maybe another pic of the devises...not so close-up will give us a little better idea?
