I buy mine locally, in bulk, from a major coin distribution center. Also, I check out the coin shows if I'm looking for something specific.

Any where I can get a good deal. From our members or from web based dealers, probably the one ikandiggit is referring to. Just search the web and you will find some good lots at very good prices. Watch out for some of the better know sites such as APMEX, they are a little steep on price and they sell troy pounds not standard pound lots as some of the smaller dealers do.

Ebay, Vcoins, MA-Shops and a few favorite sellers at the local coin show.

Although not a World coin collector I have been picking them up here and there at work. Since I have to look a lot of them up for the boss I have started to learn and appreciate them more. If it catches my eye I just might buy it.
Today I picked up a 1947 Un Balboa. Will post it in in another thread.

Been buying bulk 10 lbs at a time. Kind of working out OK, but can't say it's been a great experience. Think I may be expecting to much of this type of purchase. Did pick-up 3 coins at a recent coin show, looked at ebay several times but yet to make a purchase mainly because I lack any experience/knowledge in world coins at this time.

I think you should pay no more than $5 a pound, plus shipping. It just so happens I have 10 pounds of world coins I'd be willing to sell you at this very price! Just let me know if interested.

Price? My local dealer buys at $5.00 per pound, sells at $6.50. Works out well for me when I buy, search, and then resell to him. He has a small network of folks like me who search foreign coins, so he's maintaining a system that works for all of us and provides a little cash flow for him.

I go to my local coin dealer. Sometimes he has silver coins and strange coins in a little bucket.

Quote: What would be a good price per pound? A seller that frequents the coin shows sells $4 per pound to my son. Now my son buys bulk for me too.
