2 Cent pieces are definitely not my strong suit. But I have a worn 1865 with the 1 and 8 in the date attached together. Curious if this is a variety. Thank you

The die crack itself doesn't warrant a variety, but I'll check my book tonight to see if that die crack is diagnostic of a variety.

It is a plain 5 and most likely one of the very minor RPDs it looks very close to the KF-RPD-003, KF-RPD-005 or KF-RPD-006, but it's inconclusive as there is too much wear to positively tell in these photos. Either way it's not a real valuable variety maybe a dollar or two over the price for a non RPD one in this grade. None of Kevin's photos show a die crack connecting the 1 and 8 in the date, I have my coins in the bank's safe deposit box now, so I can't compare, I don't have photos completed on the 1865 plain 5 yet, I'm working on my Fancy 5 coins first.

The KF is for Kevin Flynn and his book "The Authoritative Reference on Two Cent Coins" (2011)

EDIT: Not the RPD-006 as that would have the Complete D serif and it's missing on the OP coin shown. DOH!
