Hi all, I bought this coin recently because of an interesting feature....some kind of die break through the 5 in the date...... I am familiar with laminations and normal die cracks , but have never really seen anything like this before. It goes OVER the 5....? I do not have the coin in hand yet. I looked though as many 1850s as I can find and cant find it on another coin. It also looks to have either PMD or a strike though on the 8 and at the back of the neck, that could be related.

It looks like a lamination with part of it becoming detached on the 8 and the neck.
