die states got way worse than that during the 1980s, your coin has been modified by circulation, making its exact die state difficult to determine with certainty

When you see the tops of the devices all the same height, (Even the design of the bust and building is affected) it is a circulation issue with this coin. Going through a lot of vending machine flatten the tops of the devices. So it is more of a damaged coin issue. on this coin. The '1' on the date is weaker, so I feel it was affected with a small amount of grease on that device. (nothing else on that area is showing the same weakness) Thus it is shorter on the single device.
