Could be Ridge Ring @pris. That reverse die must have been not quite so fresh as the obv one.

Just a coin from excessively worn dies. (But they do even get worse)

Quote: are ridge rings from worn dies Yes, but I would phrase it that Ridge Ring is one indication of a coin having been struck from a late/very late stage die.

But the Cents and Nickels sometimes show Progressive Indirect Die Transfer as the dies continue to age. on your coin, the die was soon reaching that point, but not there yet. The PIDT will look something like this: Often seen on Reverse sides of coins: CoopHome: What is PIDT? progressive indirect design transfer. seen on agings dies usually on the anvil die side coins

They are just die events. No premium for these. But an explanation of what we are seeing on these coins. Then we can move on to the next coin with the answer that we always want to know. ("What is this")

nickels from the mid/late-1980s have higher relief (deeper depth) than many other dates, and that might be what you are calling warping
