ok on this D nickel why is the reverse warped out of shape whats it called is it collectible and 1986 must be notorious for all kinds of goof ups on the nickles and why is it only affecting the reverse and not the obverse

Could be Ridge Ring @pris. That reverse die must have been not quite so fresh as the obv one.

so on the left and right side more on the left side that looks like a shelf sort of is from worn dies are ridge rings from worn dies

Yes, but I would phrase it that Ridge Ring is one indication of a coin having been struck from a late/very late stage die.

But the Cents and Nickels sometimes show Progressive Indirect Die Transfer as the dies continue to age. on your coin, the die was soon reaching that point, but not there yet. The PIDT will look something like this:

They are just die events. No premium for these. But an explanation of what we are seeing on these coins. Then we can move on to the next coin with the answer that we always want to know. ("What is this")

nickels from the mid/late-1980s have higher relief (deeper depth) than many other dates, and that might be what you are calling warping

ok and really was wondering what bent out of shape stuff was now I know thank you because I had a few that kind of looked like the ones coop shared just not as bad as they are
