Nice find! This is RPM-001 FS-501:

http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20...6DRPM001.htm

The D/Shadow D is actually FS-508 that looks like this:

1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent
1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent

Two very different RPM. So while your coin is not the D/Shadow D, it's still an awesome and strong variety.

A RPM will show evidence of a second or more punching on the die. Being a larger mintmark is not a RPM. It has to show punches to see a RPM:
1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent
Note how large this mintmark is? But it is not a RPM. Why? Because there is no evidence of a second or more punching on the mintmark area.
Different types of RPMs:
1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent
1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent
Direction on RPMs:
1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent
Difference between and Tilted an Rotated RPM?
1956-D-D/Shadow-D-Cent
To know is better than guessing. Seeing is understanding. Now you can understand what you are looking at/for.

CoopHome: Why are some enlarged mintmarks, not a RPM? need to see multiple punches on the mintmark area.
