Now I'm looking at a silver eagle with a face value of $1 and trying to determine the best offer for myself. But when I dial the certificate number, sometimes the site does not show the price of the coin (its market value). What could this be related to? I have already faced such a problem when I bought 10 cents of Roosevelt

I do not recommend using PCGS as a price guide. Use these,eBay sold values and http://m.numismedia.com/rarecoinprices.htm

The PCGS Price Guide is a good resource to consult, but only covers coin values that are graded by and then placed into PCGS holders https://www.PCGS.com/prices/detail/.../most-active As mentioned you can then use actual sold listings such as auction sites completed listings, ebay sold listings etc to see what prices might be at any given time in actual sales. Sometimes if there is no price shown its possibly due to no sales records yet such as a top pop that hasnt gone up for sale before and pricing would have to be estimated in that event. The guide is also useful to see the range of values for different graded conditions which may help determine whether sending in a non graded example is a good idea or not when comparing the grading cost to the values after receiving a potential grade.
