What grade would you guys think thus would get? I'm feeling an ms61 or maybe 62?

I bit too much light on the obverse shot...but loosely I would say you are in the right range...maybe better in hand...

I think that the photos are hiding a lot of chatter marks, particularly on the reverse. With that said, MS-61/62 would seem about right with the photos that we have.

MS-62, give or take a grade based on the photos.

I'd be at MS-61 on this one. Deep jaw gouge and rub in the right field.

I just realized I have this coin mislabeled. It's not an 1889 but a 1899

I would say at least MS-62 with a shot at 63. Good luster.

too much glare from the lighting on this to see the surfaces properly.
since this is all I have to assess it then i'll go with that.

obv
surface preservation is about 3.5 out of 5
strike 4 out of 5
luster 3 out of 5
eye appeal 3 out of 5

rev
same grades as obv

overall a higher end MS62 coin
