I bought this coin a few years ago, and if I ever looked it up I don't remember.

Recently, while looking through my LRBs again, I realized that this one might end up being quite a rare type.

I couldn't make a good photo, so I'm posting two sets of bad pics (of the same coin) with different lighting instead. Hope that helps.

I'm thinking Tesorillo 49, Esty 53. But it's a rare type and there's not a lot of comparison images, and of course the legend on my coin is mostly obliterated and/or off flan (except ...MANORVM on the reverse).

16 mm, 2.93 grams. AFAIK this is AE3 size for early 5th century.

...looking it up it might match the even rarer Tesorillo 134/Esty 64. Good luck finding comparison images for that. (Esty's entry says they don't know of any images online.) OTOH that's an AE4 so it shouldn't be nearly 3 grams.

Hoping for second (third, fourth...) opinions.

Found the AE2 option I was thinking of: Tesorillo 45/Esty 35, a common Arcadius AE2. That one has a captive left of the spear, which I feel like I can't quite rule out.

Of course an Arcadius AE2 would hardly be 16 mm (this is nominally the upper bound of AE4 size), and the bust is far larger than on all of Esty's (or Tesorillo's) examples. So far the Honorius option looks the most parsimonious.

Nice. I think the obverse legend, what's left of the mintmark and lack of star or other symbols in reverse fields points to Honorius.
