A respectable Cud on a respectable coin. This one is unlisted but will just go in the box of unlisted such things until JC is ready to take submissions again. 1943 Lincoln Wheat cent die error - unlisted Cud

Nice Cud. It is a Cud, must be listed? Yes if someone will do the statistics. TROP: you always find nice ones.

Nice find TB, I think that a Cud similar to this one has been posted here somewhere - but I don't think it was on a steel coin.

Thanks so much for the great comments! I ended up going through another 200 coins from this year last night without finding much of anything else, but at least didn't get skunked.

Thanks! I try to post coins that demonstrate errors or varieties in ways that show the coins well and give folks a chance to see what the real deal looks like. Plus a little about how this or that happened at times, but mostly I feel that you can't find what you don't know about, so just seeing more images of interesting coins helps out.

I can see the errors but what is a " Cud" and does this type of coin have a value?

Quote: I can see the errors but what is a " Cud" and does this type of coin have a value? A Cud is basically a coin that was struck with a broken die. In this case, the die was broken near the rim at the 6 o'clock position. The piece of the die that broke off would correspond in size to the missing area on the struck coin. Value? All depends on type of coin, size of the Cud and collector appeal.
