Was sorting through some wheats and ran across this. I can't make out the 4th number in date and the mint mark. Looks like the word united stamped over 4th number in date. I don't really know anything about any error coins. Just wonderiing if someone could help with this?

Looks like your coin has post mint damage. I see no signs of this being an error.

looks like a 1945.. post mint damage as vermont said

Thanks for taking a look. I was thinking 45 but what I was making out as a 5 was way out of position (too high). I guess its that way from damage.

i am not sure why it is that way maybe vermont or coppercoins could better assist you with why it happened or why it looks higher.. Keep it as a learning source for others you may run across

It's probably just a part of the damage. I would have to see the coin in hand to tell for sure, and can tell you it's not worth the postage and time to find out. At any rate, it's a cent and it's damaged.
