Hello all. Thank you for looking at my post. As you can see from the pictures uploaded I've come across a penny unlike something I've never seen before. The date and mint mark are unknown. I found it while coil roll hunting. Can someone please explain what happened here? Is there any value to it? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It appears to have been
squeezed in a vise, between two washers.

If this is the case, then PMD, unfortunately.
A 'shed job', by someone with too much time on their hands.

That is about the best explanation I could come up with.

It certainly looks interesting..

Very cool post-strike damage. I'd hang onto it as a fun curiosity.

Ah, I've heard of these so-called "shed jobs". Just didn't picture anything like this. Thanks everyone for your input. Case closed!

Certainly man made. Reminds me a bit of the better counterstamp coins where the design is removed partially, or first removed fully and then another is placed on top. Also similar to some of the hobo nickel coins so maybe they were learning how to do that. Perhaps some MacGyver here can explain how its done: Examples:

In any case I'd say theres Too Much Time On My Hands
