It's uneven and the imprint near the head goes into the rim a little deeper. I tried to take the best pictures to show what I'm talking about

That's normal for cents in the late 60's.

Normal for a 1968 as the master hub was starting to wear out.
In 1969 the new master has the copy further from the rim.

There was an issue with a swelling master hub that year. (Progressive through the years) A new, New master hub was created in 1969 that showed how much the master hub was distorted that year:

Note the normal size of the devices on the 1969 cent? The devices were moving and enlarging on the swollen master hub, even on the proof cents:
