Nycstlrr Valued Member United States 284 Posts	Posted 09/27/2022 2:51 pm As Coinfrog said, there were no proofs made at Philadelphia. Proof coins were made at San Francisco and would have the S mint mark. This is just a circulation strike coin. Report this Post to the Staff

ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19210 Posts	Posted 09/27/2022 3:49 pm The coin in question doesn't have a mint mark, meaning it was struck in Philly. If it had a S mint mark (San Francisco), it would be a proof. Another give away is the look of the rim--doesn't look as 'squared' as a proof would be. In sum (and in my opinion), the coin is a business strike Philly cent, not a proof. Report this Post to the Staff
