From what I see only one side is "floating", the initials are there but very faint and only visible when light is shined from the top.

Yes, a partial floating roof but only worth face value.

to the CCF!

This is caused by an overworked reverse die being polished to remove some type of damage. It may have been polished to remove a die clash, but the abrasion remove the roof upright on the left side of the monument as well. The 'FG' is looking really weak too!
