@YesOrNo: Thanks for the heads up! IMO, the 1997 silver dollar has a more engaging design. The central design shared by the 2022 coins seems a bit generic. For comparison: - , 1997 Hockey Coin and Stamp Set

The hockey fan in me really wants to buy the Au version......the coin collector says, ugh, another excess premium Au coin with a mediocre design........On the anniversary of Henderson scoring THE goal, he could have been featured.

@Tripoli: Do you already have the 1997 SD?

I guess you would have to be a "Die Hard" Hockey or Gold fan to fork out $4100 Cdn for one ounce of Gold.

Quote: The central design shared by the 2022 coins seems a bit generic. Now that I have the 2022 $2 colorized coin in hand, I'd be a buyer of a colorized SD or a colorized 1oz/38mm format . The 50mm is too large and yes too generic.

@commems, I totally agree about the 1997 coin: a classic. I'd like to see better offerings for the 50th anniversary NCLT coins.
Happy collecting!
