Hello everyone. Sorry to pull up this topic, I know it gets old after a while. This one has me confused though. Several aspects say small date like, spacing of liberty from Lincoln coat, the alignment of the date, the tail of nine and alignment of mint mark. Then there's signs of large date the 2 particularly. May be me but seems it's been spread by wear. Any help be appreciated.

It's a Large Date.

Here's a guide to help tell the differences.

Large Date.
All you have to do is look at the distance between the 2 and the rim.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I just don't have an eye for this one because the 8'd look round to me and 2 looks like a u. This is hard one for me. Thank you.

Yes, large date. For me, they key is the gap between the 2 and the rim.

For me it is the top of the 8.On the LD the top of the 8 is large and on the SD the top of the 8 is small like on a snowman.

The shape of the 2 and the distance of the 2 from the rim are the best indicators. Always easy to tell from them.
