I havent been able to find anything on a connected "I" and "N" in "In God We Trust" that looks almost like a "W" but thats what I'm seeing here. Also looks like doubling on the obverse. Thoughts?

Apologies for not posting the whole coin. My coin microscope doesn't extend high enough atm but I will edit once adjusted.

Agreed. Looks more like circulation flattening to me. Also, the letter I of IN took a hit and got smushed over.

Not a DDO and the letter "I " has just been hit moving it over.
Remember, all DD have thick letters but not all thick letters are a DD.
