Hi guys I am old but new to coin collecting, and I am trying to learn about errors at this time. I was hoping to get some insight on this particular 1987 D Lincoln Memorial penny. Is it just worn, or is there something more to it? Would really appreciate the feedback.
If you want to learn about errors, you will have to do some studying on sites such as error-ref.com Don't forget, it is only an error if it happens during the actual striking of the coin. Anything that happens after that is considered damage which would eliminate over 90% of the anomalies that you see on a coin. The coin you submitted is just damaged and has zinc rot.
Thank you all for the information on where to better acquaint myself with errors. like I said I'm new to this and I really appreciate everything that you guys have enlightened me on.
