2017 D Quarter Doubled Die Obverse / DDO / Doubled Die Reverse / DDR Or Just Mechanical Doubling?

Dearborn Moderator United States 95936 Posts	Posted 10/13/2022 6:43 pm That is MD - you have to remember that the MD seen on incuse devices is opposite of what you would see if they were raised. The enlarging of the devices is due to the die carving into the side of the lettering. Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. The reverses will never have a DDR on the incuse devices on the reverses on the ATB Quarters. 70% of these are Machine Doubling doubling on the incuse devices as already mentioned. Look up tp see where to find the Doubled dies on these quarters. You don't know what you are missing until you look up to see what a doubled die looks like on these coins.
