Whats going on with the third feather on this one? Die polished or perhaps considered a 2 1/2 feather?

That's a diagnostic for a 3-leg. Broken 3rd feather.

Thanks Jerry, thats good to know. I have seen others, all with the telltale pee stream and the rough hind leg but normal on the third feather. First time I am seeing the partial feather here. Congrats!

Separation of the 3rd feather was due to die polishing. As Jerry Picker mentioned, a good DM for the 3 leg. Not enough abrading of the 3rd to be considered a 2 1/2 feather though. Not trying to hijack the thread, but below is an example of a 37-D 2 1/2 Feather.

Looks like an attractive example. I am far from an expert on buffalos and this one quickly blew past what I was comfortable bidding on it. I think you may have done well with this one @Jerry Picker.

The first set of photo makes me think is MS, the second set said AU, but difficult to say cleaned or not.

Nice coin.
