Could be possible.
One of my helpers found a corroded Indian cent when we were replacing damaged marble column bases at Jefferson's Rotunda at UVa. It had been placed between the stones when similar work was done in the early 1900's.
I did find a time capsule under a massive stone door sill that I was removing and replacing at the Presidents residence at UVa. (Carrs Hill https://carrshill.virginia.edu/ )
Got a glance at some newspaper before it was handed over for preservation.

While removing a Dupont era carved marble Mantle at James Madison's Montpelier ( https://research.colonialwilliamsbu...ntpelier.cfm ) I found the remains of Madisons original fireplace mantle behind it. The archeologists were head over heals as they originally had no clue of what Madison had put there.
