A lot of errors get picked out of circulation fast, as they can be pretty obvious to spot. Minor clips seems to be the exception, as there are many examples of circulated wheat cents with small clips. But this one strikes me a fairly decent-sized for no one to have grabbed it all the while it was moving around getting that worn down.

Maybe someone used it as a lucky pocket piece?

Nice save.
For most people, this probably looked like damage but definitely a clip. That ragged edge is a nice confirmation.

Maybe not 'clipped' per-se, but it was on the rough edge of the sheet of copper.

Pretty nice find . I like the ragged end of it.

Nice one. Hard to say for sure with this level of circulation wear, but there might be a little weakness on the rev rim across from this clip.

Find find on the straight clip or end of strip error. I find a few clips in every bag of 5K Wheat cent. So you are right that they don't get saved for some reason.

Straight clip. (Actually as already mentioned, that is over the edge of the stock metal)
