Hey folks!

I have a fun one today, atleast for me.

I recently picked up this slick and challenged myself to identify it once I got home.

Low and behold, my Poor 1 1883 No Cents Liberty Head V nickel!

I cannot see any signs of the word Cents on the reverse while also seeing remnants of the 1883 on obverse.

Is this enough proof to get a Poor 1 grade?
Thanks!

The No Cents wreath is marginally farther from the rim than the Cents type, so I imagine if you could precisely measure a known visible point to the rim, it might be enough to authenticate. You'd have to account for how smashed from wear it is though. Hmm...

I have a different No Cents that is easily verifiable.

This one in question, and the verified one match up about the same.

The With Cents one I have measured noticeably shorter.

So here's an update.

After close inspection of 1883 and 1888 coins, I have confirmed this is an 1888.

The last number protrudes further then Liberty's neck.

Whereas, 1883 is within the neck.

I plan on sending it in to get graded!
