I acquired this coin in an auction, for less than 10 USD.

To my surprise, this seems legit coin, but the price I paid for it makes me really wondering if it is actually legit

What are your thoughts?

It's a cast fake. Note the inflated letters and crude details on the eagle's face.

All you have to do is to compare your picture with a picture of a genuine 8 real
to see that it is not close. Definitely a counterfeit.

I agree - just look online for a verified one (slabbed). Next to a picture of a real one this one will show to be an obvious fake.
