Strong AU sharpness, not sure whether scratches would detail it.

Despite the spots looks high EF-AU to me. Even with the spots and minor scratches seems like a good buy to me.

The spots don't kill it imo. Sure it has issues but it's still a decent piece that could grade AU50 if straight graded.

Try some 100% acetone to see if it helps it. Personally I like it.

looks really close to AU58. my only concern is that sometime in its life something may have splashed on the coin to cause the spotting so it does have a chance of detailing. I have seen this before and the coins have graded straight

AU50. Straight grade. Bit of luster around protected areas. Trying to remove the spots may not be advisable.

Always a pleasure to see a Shield nickel with fully struck obverse shield lines.

Nice strike. I think the scratches are a bigger issue than the spotting. Certainly, AU level coin.

I don't think either the scratches nor the spots warrant a details designation. It will however, likely affect selling price. I'd try xylene or Verdicare on the spots, doubt acetone will touch them. AU50 for me.
