Probably if we would have seen the whole coin, the motto devices will show over polishing. Thus the over polishing removed part of the ears sub devices. Fresher die: https://images.PCGS.com/CoinFacts/8...214_2200.jpg Polished die: https://images.PCGS.com/CoinFacts/4...926_2200.jpg Note how weak the motto devices are. Your coin is probably also showing this as well. Thus the polishing of the die weakened the bub devices of the ear. On a doubled year, the devices will be enlarged on the hubs design, not reduced as seen on die polishing. Report this Post to the Staff
