I swear this penny feels plastic, almost like it was popped out model parts. You know how the edges have a little tiny piece you have to cut off with a hobby knife after the piece is twisted or popped off?

I can't find anything online about a 2006 black weird texture coin. Also, the weight is 2.54 grams if curious. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

It looks to have the start of a really bad case of Zinc Rot. The rim has the worst of the rot, but the surfaces are not too far behind. This coin may have been buried or in a body of water for a time. It can get much worse than what you see here.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I agree, a bad case of zinc rot. Get rid of it while there is still something left.
