ok, let me try to get this out all at the same time. I am knew to this coin stuff. I have a ***load of pennies I was holding for my then father in law when he was getting a divorce. they sat in my closet for over 30 yrs. so here goes.... I have a 1950 Lincoln Penny, weighing 2.5 grams, the same size a penny should be. it looks damaged on the bottom of the obverse and the top of the reverse. I dont know if this is mint or post mint damage. from what I have been reading here and looking at the pics, it doesn't look like an acid job to me. but you would know better. my questions are: is it real? if so is it worth getting graded? any and all expertise is appreciated.

to the CCF

The weak strike and light weight indicates that it may have been struck from a thin planchet.
Certainly not worth spending around $50.00 or so get it graded as that would far exceed the value of the coin.

Confusing pics. Thin planchet seems likely. Not worth grading fees.

No need to apologize, we all mess up some time or the other.
Your first photos were sufficient for your question, file names are not necessary.
Looking forward to your next question.

to the CCF It's a tapered planchet. The edge is thin where it's tapered, and then normal thickness the rest of the way around.

The first coin posted looks like a tapered planchet coin. Also looks a bit on the outside edge of the coin with a very slight clip/or breakaway metal issue. Not worth grading. But an interesting find. (Thus making it under weight and showing a weaker strike on the affected tapered area. Circulation makes the value drop a lot on these errors.
