I have to admit I have no experience grading this series, but I saw this in a lot and couldn't pass up the opportunity to own something with this much history.

I was thinking AG-3 details? More informed opinions greatly welcomed.

seems reasonable to call it AG. the details part is really what is going to define the value on this coin. its got a pretty decent date on it considering the amount of wear it received. 1806 is kinda tough. you have a better date coin there. there is only one known variety for 1806. S-270. R-1. 348,000 minted means its original production was about 2/3 of the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent.

lighting is a little weak to see the fields but it obviously has some level of corrosion which is very typical for the series. if you keep in mind that all the early planchets for these were shipped across the ocean in wood barrels with humidity and salt air finding super clean planchet examples is not easy and command a higher price. add to that handling and storage over 200 years and this is what you get.

i think its a decent, well circulated example. there are no disfiguring gouges or rim hits

AG details sounds right. she has character and a lot of history
