Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me if this is a die crack? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a novice#128527;

Could be a crack or a scratch.
Need clearer pictures to say for sure.
Out of focus pictures do nothing in the way
of helping to determine the cause.

A die crack does not travel relatively straight across a coin. And it certainly does not showing being that visible throiugh the design elements. It looks like a scratch or gouge across the coin after minting. Is it raised or recessed?

Thanks for the replies!!! Forgive the delay as I'm trying to figure out the best way to display and photograph it so that the trained eyes can see. There are parts that are recessed and others are raised. Hope to be able to post a pic taken from my digital microscope.

you can see metal has been moved to the sides on the crack. this means its PMD and just a bad scratch
